Policy Statement on the Interpretation of EU Guidelines and Recommendations

18 Jul 22

This Policy Statement sets out the GFSC's expectations with respect to the interpretation of EU Guidelines and Recommendations.

It confirms that firms should continue to make every effort to comply with EU Guidelines and Recommendations that were applicable whilst Gibraltar was part of the EU, and during the Brexit transition period (which ended at midnight on 31 December 2020), and also that firms are not bound by Guidelines/Recommendations that have been issued since that date (unless the GFSC confirms otherwise).

The Policy Statement also contains a non-exhaustive list of (and links to) the various Guidelines from the different European Supervisory Bodies that continue to be complied with in Gibraltar.
