< BackGFSC focuses on fraud and scam prevention for World Investor Week 2021
05 Nov 21
The Gibraltar Financial Services Commission will be taking part in the International Organisation of Securities Commissions’ (IOSCO) World Investor Week campaign from Monday 8 November to Friday 12 November.
Led by international financial regulators, World Investor Week aims to raise consumer awareness in investor education and subsequently protection around the globe. This year the GFSC will be highlighting fraud and scam prevention.
During the course of the week, information on fraud and scam prevention will be published on the GFSC’s social media channels (@gibfsc) and local media outlets.
Director of Specialist Regulation, Heidi Bocarisa, said: “ We are excited to be a part of IOSCO’s World Investor Week once again. This year we will be largely focusing on fraud and scam prevention, raising awareness on how to keep consumers safe and not fall victim to fraudsters.
“We have collaborated with local news outlets to deliver both print and broadcast messaging during the week, as well as publishing daily infographics on both our GFSC and Moneywise social media pages.
This campaign is particularly significant in emphasising the importance of consumer education and aligns excellently with our Moneywise campaign.”
